Job summary

YMCA of Greater Seattle is seeking a Clinical Supervisor to lead the MRSS-DD team and ensure high-quality mental health services in alignment with WAC and contracts.

Qualifications

• Licensed mental health professional (e.g., LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT) through WA DOH or eligible for independent licensure within 2 years.
• Minimum of 2 years direct clinical work as MH professional or child mental health specialist.
• Must complete WA DOH Clinical Supervision course within 90 days of hire (if not already supervisor).
• Experience in crisis intervention with families, preferably with youth.
• Knowledge of WA Administrative Codes governing crisis services and child welfare.
• Proficient with computers and client-tracking software; able to generate reports.

Job Description

The Clinical Supervisor provides leadership, oversight, and operational management for the MRSS-DD team. This position is responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating Clinicians and Mental Health Care Professionals (MHCPs) while fostering professional development and a high standard of clinical practice. The Clinical Supervisor provides clinical consultation, case oversight, and technical assistance to staff, ensuring quality service delivery and adherence to agency, contractual, accreditation, and regulatory requirements.

This role collaborates closely with department leadership, community partners, schools, and service agencies to support program goals and participant outcomes. Responsibilities include monitoring program performance, analyzing data and outcomes, managing participant feedback and grievances, ensuring accurate and timely clinical documentation, and overseeing day-to-day program operations. The Clinical Program Manager supports compliance with Washington Administrative Code (WAC), contract requirements, and YMCA policies and procedures while helping advance the strategic, operational, and programmatic objectives of the regional behavioral health team. This position also provides operational support to the Senior Director of Behavioral Health programs and serves as a key leader in maintaining high-quality, participant-centered services.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Independent licensure as a Clinical Social Worker, Mental Health Counselor, or Marriage and Family Therapist through the Washington State Department of Health, OR active associate licensure for at least two years with independent licensure pending.
• At least two years of direct clinical work experience as a Mental Health Professional and/or Child Mental Health Specialist.
• Any candidate who is not already an approved supervisor will be required to take the 15 hour WA DOH approved Clinical Supervision course within 90 days of hire (paid for by the YMCA).
• Two or more years training and experience providing emergent, skills-focused, intensive, short term crisis intervention for families preferred and/or experience working with youth and families in the Child Welfare System.
• Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Experience with wraparound, motivational interviewing and solution-focused service delivery models.
• Working knowledge of youth and family mental health, juvenile justice and chemical dependency systems and providers in King County and Washington State child welfare system strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of relevant Washington Administrative Codes governing Crisis Services and Child Welfare work.
• Intermediate proficiency with computers, basic Microsoft Office software and case management/client tracking software.
• Experience with project management and business planning, including tracking and summarizing data into reports in a timely manner.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, a high sense of urgency, and ability to consistently adhere to strict timelines and follow-through.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Work experience and/or lived experience supporting, advocating for, or working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (I/DD).
• Knowledge of and previous experience with diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.).
• Ability to speak any language in addition to English may be helpful.

Authorized Driver Information

This role has the potential to transport clients as an “authorized driver” for the YMCA of Greater Seattle (YGS) using your own vehicle (proof of current auto insurance and vehicle registration are required). Driving duties for this role are optional, but preferred.* Driving roles are safety-sensitive. To become an authorized driver, you must be 21+, have possessed a driver's license for at least 3 years, and pass a drug screen that will test for impairing substances (including marijuana) in addition to meeting the driving record standards below:

• Due to state-specific reporting requirements in our driver management system, we are not currently able to enroll California Driver's License holders as Authorized Drivers.

Physical Requirements

Role may require standing, walking, squatting, sitting, typing, bending, reaching, twisting, repetitive hand movements, and driving. Hearing must be adequate to perform job duties in person, over the telephone, and in virtual meetings. Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English fluently in person, over the telephone, and in virtual meetings. Visual acuity must be adequate to perform job duties, including visual examination of information from printed sources and computer screens. Must be able to remain stationary in a sitting or standing position up to 95% of the time. Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move anywhere from 5 lbs. - 50 lbs. Requires lifting above the shoulders occasionally. Must have the physical ability and dexterity to perform the requisite heath care service. Requires exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, medical preparations, and other conditions common to a clinic environment.

Essential Functions

• Recruit, hire, train, evaluate, and supervise clincal staff (Clincians, Mental Health Care Professionals (MHCP)) in assigned areas. Provide development and leadership for staff.
• Provide technical assistance and case consultation to staff while carrying a small caseload of their own.
• Collaborate with other department leaders to provide support and leadership to assigned programs.
• Compile program statistics and provide data and reports as required. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of and participation in program(s).
• Manage participant feedback and grievances, including follow-up as needed.
• Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with community organizations, schools, and agencies related to participant support.
• Develop, produce, and distribute program information necessary to promote programs, in accordance with branch marketing plans.
• Assigns cases to supervisees an monitors staff documentation and individual case records by utilizing the report in the electronic helath records, periodically spot-checking case records from each staff and ensure timely documentation of services and productivity.
• Support program compliance, including monthly reporting, contract outcomes, and data evaluation, and ensure services are delivered and documented in accordance with WAC and contractual requirements.
• Ensure that program policies and procedures are followed and that all programs comply with YMCA, contract, accreditation, and all relevant regulations and applicable standards.
• Ensure that employees in your department are following program procedures, safety requirements, and have clarity of roles and responsibilities.
• Directly oversee day-to-day operations as needed, including scheduling, coverage needs, and responding to emergencies.
• Supports the Clinical Program Director III with the programmatic and operational needs of the regional team.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
