Job summary

Basecamp Recovery Center seeks a Clinical Supervisor to provide day-to-day clinical supervision at the Franklinton or Whitehall site in Ohio. The role requires holding an active credential (e.g., LCDC II/III, LSW) and allows sign-off within the credential’s scope.

You will review billing and clinical records, support treatment planning, and collaborate with the Assistant Clinical Director on tasks outside scope. Strong coaching, communication, and case management are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in behavioral health, counseling, social work, or related field.
  • Active Ohio clinical credential in good standing (e.g., LCDC II/III, LSW, or equivalent).
  • Substantial experience in behavioral health practice; supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day clinical supervision and case consultation at the assigned site.
  • Review and sign off on billing documentation and clinical records within licensure scope.
  • Support treatment planning, case reviews, and quality of care for clients.
  • Coordinate with the Assistant Clinical Director on documentation, billing, or diagnostic matters outside the scope of practice.
  • Monitor supervised staff caseloads, documentation timeliness, and adherence to standards.
  • Participate in staff training, onboarding, and professional development within scope.
  • Escalate matters outside scope of practice to the Assistant Clinical Director as appropriate.
  • Perform other clinical supervisory duties as assigned.

This role holds sign-off authority and supervisory scope consistent with the incumbent's active clinical credential (e.g., LCDC II, LCDC III, LSW, or other qualifying Ohio credential). Any clinical or billing area outside the incumbent's specific scope of practice — such as independent SUD diagnostic authority for a non-LCDC-credentialed supervisor, or supervision of more highly credentialed staff — is supported by the Assistant Clinical Director as an ongoing operational overlay.# Essential Duties and Responsibilities* Provide clinical supervision and case consultation to assigned clinical staff at the assigned site, within the incumbent's scope of practice* Review and sign off on billing documentation and clinical records for completeness and compliance, within scope of licensure* Support treatment planning, case reviews, and quality of care for clients served by supervised staff* Coordinate with the Assistant Clinical Director on any documentation, billing, or diagnostic matter outside the incumbent's scope of practice* Monitor supervised staff caseloads, documentation timeliness, and adherence to BRC and payer standards* Participate in staff training, onboarding, and professional development within scope* Support incident reviews, audits, and CARF accreditation preparation as needed* Escalate matters outside of the incumbent's scope of practice to the Assistant Clinical Director or Clinical Director as appropriate* Perform other clinical supervisory duties as assigned# Scope and AuthorityThe specific supervisory and sign-off scope of this role is determined by the incumbent's active credential and corresponding Ohio scope-of-practice rules (e.g., OCDP for chemical dependency credentials, counselor/social work board rules for LSW/LPC-track credentials). At minimum:* Sign-off authority extends only as far as the incumbent's credential independently permits* Any billing, documentation, or diagnostic area outside that scope (for example, independent SUD diagnostic sign-off for a supervisor whose credential does not cover it) routes through the Assistant Clinical Director on an ongoing basis* This role does not independently supervise staff credentialed at a higher or different scope than the incumbent holds; that supervision routes through the Clinical Director or Assistant Clinical Director* Scope may expand if the incumbent obtains a higher or independent credential during employment; any such change should be reported to Human Resources and reflected in updated documentation## Qualifications# QualificationsEducation:* Bachelor's or Master's degree in a behavioral health, counseling, social work, or related field, consistent with the credential heldLicensure/Certification:* Active Ohio clinical credential in good standing required (e.g., LCDC II, LCDC III, LSW, or other qualifying credential); specific credential requirements may be tailored to the needs of the assigned siteExperience:* Substantial experience in behavioral health practice; multi-setting experience (e.g., substance use, mental health, adolescent, community, or corrections-adjacent settings) preferred* Prior supervisory experience preferred and will be confirmed and documented as part of the offer process* Relevant certifications (e.g., SOAR) are a plus# Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities* Working knowledge of clinical documentation, billing, and compliance standards relevant to the incumbent's credential* Clear understanding of the boundaries of one's own scope of practice, including when to route matters to the Assistant Clinical Director* Strong case management, coaching, and communication skills* Ability to collaborate closely with the Assistant Clinical Director on any shared documentation or sign-off workflow outside the incumbent's scope# WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSWork is performed primarily in an office and clinical treatment setting at the assigned BRC location.
