Job summary

$2,000 (Distributed in 4 parts: $500 after 30 days, $500 after 90 days, $500 after 150 days, and $500 after 210 days of employment).

In this role, you’ll make a difference in the lives of people with substance abuse challenges, often with co-occurring conditions. You’ll use and grow your skills in compassionate care, crisis intervention, and de-escalation in a supportive and inclusive work environment.

This position provides leadership, support, and oversight for all elements of the clinical work at our Detox program, including training, skill development, coaching, performance feedback, and enforcement of program rules. It ensures adherence to all program and agency policies and procedures, assisting the Program Manager to develop and deliver high-quality client care in accordance with Horizon Services standards and applicable federal, state, and county regulations. This supervisory position is part of the program leadership team and also provides direct client services, such as individual and group counseling and crisis support.

What will make you successful in this role?
  • Serve as designated LPHA (Licensed Practitioner of Healing Arts) for assigned DMC-ODS clients.
  • Provide on-call consultation and support for supervisees during non-regular work hours.
  • Ensure quality care for residents/beneficiaries consistent with regulatory standards and program policies and assist in improvement of services as needed.
  • Provide crisis support intervention and de-escalation of conflict as needed.
  • Develop knowledge of community resources related to health, mental health, finances, case management, and housing.
  • Consult with clinical staff to assess, prioritize, and plan case management referrals and facilitate connection to off-site resources and care, assisting residents/beneficiaries to access outside services as needed/assigned.
  • Monitor residents/beneficiaries to ensure appropriate supervision and knowledge of residents/beneficiaries and activities.
  • Facilitate conflict resolution meetings with staff and residents/beneficiaries as needed.
  • Provide direct counseling services (individual and group) for those designated as 3.3 and 3.5.
  • Maintain punctuality and attendance to perform duties as scheduled.
What else is required?
  • Valid California driver’s license with a good driving record and car insurance.
  • Current CPR/First Aid certificates are desirable.
  • Fingerprinting/drug testing required at time of hire.
  • TB Test.
  • Preferred: Bilingual in English, Spanish, Chinese, Vietnamese, or Tagalog.
