Job summary

First Day Homecare® is seeking an RN supervisor to oversee clinical staff delivering pediatric private duty nursing and other home health services. The role emphasizes quality care, policy compliance, and strong team leadership.

The position requires travel (30–40%), on‑call support, and collaboration with families, physicians, and care teams. Per Diem employment offers flexible scheduling and meaningful patient impact.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing. BSN preferred.
• Current license as a Registered Nurse in the state with homecare experience and supervisory exposure.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must drive with automobile insured per state requirements.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise a clinical staff team delivering home care services.
• Be available during regular business hours and for on‑call as needed.
• Assess referrals, assign clinicians, and ensure care plans meet client needs.
• Lead regular staff meetings, set priorities, and monitor progress toward goals.
• Attend case conferences to coordinate care and improve outcomes.
• Provide telephonic support during on‑call rotations and emergencies.
• Ensure timely, accurate clinical documentation and chart reviews.
• Guide staff education on policy, procedures, and service delivery.

Schedule / Expected Work Hours

• Monday through Friday, 9:00a - 5:00p.
• The position will require 30% to 40% travel.
• The position will require occasional weekend or evening visits to client homes and participation in a clinical on-call rotation (phone support only).

Job Summary

Manages, supervises, coordinates, evaluates, and develops client care teams to ensure quality care delivery within the scope of services of the Agency and all applicable policies, standards, laws, and state Nurse Practice Act.

Responsibilities

1. Manages and directs a team of clinical staff consisting of RNs, LPN/LVNs, and Home Health Aides, ensuing safe, effective, and appropriate home care services.
2. Is available at all times during regular business hours and as needed to provide support and assure quality care delivery to home care clients.
3. Receives referrals, determines services required, and Agency’s ability to meet needs. Assigns appropriate clinicians to cases.
4. Meet with clinical staff on a regular basis to provide guidance and information related to specific issues. Provides direction to teams to assure that client needs are met and services are provided according to the plan. Assists clinical staff in establishing priorities, setting goals, and evaluating progress toward goals.
5. Attends case conferences and other clinical meetings to facilitate coordination of care.
6. Participates in clinical on-call rotation as requested by the Agency, providing telephone support to clients as needed.
7. Completes client care visits or shifts as directed by the Director of Clinical Services.
8. Provides support and direction to Agency staff, other health care professionals, clients, and families related to appropriate and available health care resources.
9. Educates Agency staff on clinical services, policies, and procedures as needed.
10. Ensures accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of Agency clinical documentation on a weekly basis.
11. Completes quarterly, or more frequent as needed, client chart reviews.
12. Assists in screening, interviewing, orientation, and training of new Agency personnel.
13. Conducts timely annual performance evals on clinical staff.
14. Performs client admissions, supervisory visits, and reassessments as directed by Director of Clinical Services.
15. Develops care plans as appropriate to each client.
16. Manages medical practitioner orders for care and treatment of clients, where applicable.
17. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing. BSN preferred.
• Current license as a Registered Nurse in the state(s) of practice with the following experience at a minimum: Two (2) years' homecare experience if bachelor prepared or three (3) years' homecare experience if non-bachelor prepared; and one (1) year supervisory experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
• Must be a licensed driver with automobile insured in accordance with Agency and state requirements.
• Current CPR certification.
