Job summary

The Salvation Army in Detroit seeks an experienced clinical leader to supervise and guide all clinical staff and services. You will monitor records, lead program development, and coordinate community partnerships to ensure a seamless continuum of care.

The role requires strong oversight, adherence to policies, and active participation in quality improvement efforts. Qualifications include CCS/CCS-DP or equivalent credentials within 30 days, CAADC/CADC certifications, and state licensure.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to lead and motivate clinical staff.
• Two years in a clinical supervision role or as a lead therapist preferred.
• Experience in substance abuse or mental health field.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical direction and leadership to all personnel.
• Oversee recording keeping and monitor records for timeliness and accuracy.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate program activities.
• Manage admissions, authorizations, and discharges.
• Coordinate services with community and health care agencies.
• Respond to program emergencies per Harbor Light policies.
• Supervise and schedule clinical staff as directed.
• Maintain documentation for supervised staff.
• Approve hours and coordinate payroll data.
• Advise on hiring and firing of clinical personnel.
• Review admission/discharge satisfaction surveys.
• Represent The Salvation Army in community functions.
• Ensure day-to-day site operations in the Site Administrator's absence.
• Conduct staff meetings, supervision, fidelity checks, and case reviews.
• Participate in Detroit QI and system-wide meetings.

Job description

Position Summary:

Supervises and provides leadership to all clinical staff and oversees all clinical services.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Provide clinical direction and leadership to all personnel.
• Assure timely, accurate and adequate recording keeping and monitor/evaluate records.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate all program activities.
• Monitor all treatment program admissions, authorizations, and discharges.
• Coordinate services with community and health care agencies to provide a continuum of care.
• Respond to all program emergencies as necessary following all Harbor Light approved policies and procedures.
• Supervision and scheduling of clinical personnel as directed by the Site Administrator.
• Maintain accurate documentation regarding supervised staff.
• Verify and approve hours worked for employees and submit information to the payroll person in a timely manner.
• Give recommendations on hiring and firing of all clinical personnel.
• Review admission and discharge satisfaction surveys
• Represent The Harbor Light in community functions and committees as directed by the Site Administrator.
• Provide for the day-to-day operations of the site in the absence of the Site Administrator.
• Conduct staff meetings, individual supervision, fidelity checks and clinical case conferences/case reviews
• Participate in Detroit QI meetings, System-wide QI and Clinical Supervisor meetings
• Perform other duties as assigned

Education/Experience:

• Two years of Clinical Supervisor or lead therapist experience preferred
• Minimum of two years working in the field of substance abuse or mental health

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

• Ability to lead and motivate

Computer Skills:

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, internet, and email

Certificates and Licenses:

• Appropriate MCBAP Clinical Supervisor Credentialing (CCS or CCS-DP) or ability to obtain within 30 days
• Must possess MCBAP Addiction Counselor Certification (CAADC, CADC-M, CADC)
• Appropriate State License (LMSW, LLMSW, LLPC, LPC, ACSW)
• Valid Michigan Chauffeur License and approved by The Salvation Army MVR
• Complete Safe From Harm training, and keep current as needed
