Clinical/Substance Use Program Supervisor

  • Position: Full-time/Exempt

NATURE OF POSITION:

  • The Clinical/Substance Use Disorder Program Supervisor is responsible for clinically supervising clinical therapists (employee and contractor), outpatient clinicians, and case managers. This position is responsible for clinically supervising the intensive outpatient program (IOP) as well as the partial hospitalization program (PHP) for substance use and mental health. This position works independently and demonstrates solid leadership and clinical skills. This role will provide clinical support to outpatient clinicians, clinical therapists, office managers, and direct care staff

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervision and Management

  • Provide and document at least bi-weekly clinical supervision to therapists, case managers, and other providers.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of staff orientation and staff development programs.
  • Ensures employee staffing and scheduling are coordinated to provide appropriate staff coverage.
  • Be prepared for and actively participate in all meetings, staffing, training, etc.
  • Maintain client confidentiality.
  • Complete all necessary administrative documents promptly as scheduled.
  • Knowledgeably administers the clinical aspects of the Griffith Centers, according to standards of quality.
  • Ensures appropriate practices as outlined by local, state, and federal regulations and best practice standards.
  • Assists in the development, review, and update of policies, procedures, and forms related to compliance standards.
  • Ensures all department staff have access to necessary policies and procedures, organizational charts, crisis plans, and other relevant documents and materials essential to their job function.
  • Ensures that providers stay in compliance with their respective client-facing hours requirements.
  • Supports with data analysis, and report development.
  • Available for crisis situations and provides support/consult to clinicians and staff, as necessary.
  • Works directly with Psychiatry, Nursing, and Director of Business Development on program development, curriculum development, staffing, client engagement, program development, and all aspects of the program.

Facilitation

  • Maintains regular contact with all members of the team
  • Facilitates and documents individual supervision by actively listening, providing constructive feedback, and articulating expectations and goals
  • Ensures supervisees understand feedback and are open to addressing any questions or concerns
  • Emergency phone line coverage 60 days per calendar year
  • Manages program development by meeting with community stakeholders and establishing collaborative relationships
  • In collaboration with the Director of Business Development and Chief Program Officer, interviews, hires and onboards new staff members, as needed
  • Engages in continuous professional development opportunities
  • Recognizes problems and actively contributes to their resolution
  • Participates in relevant Griffith Centers meetings
  • Demonstrates professional and personal concern for clients' health and safety
  • Attends work on time and regularly
  • Dresses appropriately for office based and community-based work
  • Maintain a high degree of professional communication with team members
  • Other duties deemed necessary by the administration

SUPERVISOR DUTIES:

  • This position is responsible for clinically supervising clinical therapists (employee and contractor), outpatient clinicians, and case managers

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficient in rules, regulations and best practice standards as outlined by local, state, and federal agencies
  • Ability to work an open and flexible schedule to meet assigned staff, client, and program needs, including some holidays, nights and weekends
  • Ability to work with sensitivity to the cultural and/or socioeconomic diversity of the agency's clients and staff
  • Ability to maintain healthy emotional and physical boundaries in personal and professional relationships
  • Advanced computer, verbal and written communication skills
  • Must pass a background check, drug screening, and physical exam
  • Must have a valid Colorado state driver's license with the ability to travel on behalf of the organization

Education and Experience:

  • Licensed Additions Counselor or Masters Addictions Counselor (LAC/MAC) required. Full Clinical Licensure in the state of Colorado (LCSW, LPC, LMFT) and 3000 + post-degree clinical hours preferred
  • Liability insurance and DORA registration required
  • Minimum of two years' experience providing direct services to children preferred
  • Minimum of two years of experience supervising staff or equivalent working experience in a leadership role preferred
  • Experience working for a non-profit agency preferred
  • Experience providing mental health services in the community is preferred

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Must be able to walk up and down stairs
  • Lift and/or move up to 10-25 pounds

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, and/or listen. The employee frequently is required to use hands to grasp and complete clerical duties, which include, but are not limited to filing, typing, and data entry. The employee is required to walk and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to drive/operate a motor vehicle
  • This job requires the ability to travel on behalf of the organization and the ability to work in stressful conditions from time to time and remain focused for an extended period of time. The ability to lift up to 30 pounds (boxes, documents, and equipment)
