Cal Poly Pomona Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a Student Assistant to join a clinical study project within the Nutrition and Food Science Department. The role involves hands-on sample handling, participant coordination, and data documentation on-site at Cal Poly Pomona in Pomona, CA.
Training and collaboration with faculty and staff are provided. We offer a structured student employment opportunity with a base pay of $18.00 per hour, and the project includes a 70-hour stipend at the same rate.

The student is expected to have a strong knowledge of food science and nutrition. We are looking for students who are passionate about learning clinical study. This is a unique opportunity to work with expert faculty and engage with communities.
As the largest employer of students on the Cal Poly Pomona campus, the Enterprises offers valuable work experience and hands-on training to approximately 1,500 Cal Poly Pomona students each year. Participate in training sessions related to clinical study procedures, food sample handling, participant interactions, and study protocol compliance.
Prepare, package, label, and organize food samples for distribution to study participants according to approved study protocols.
Coordinate and distribute study foods and materials to participants and maintain accurate records of sample distribution and inventory.
Assist with participant scheduling, study visits, data collection activities, and documentation required for the clinical study.
Follow all instructions provided by the Principal Investigator (PI) and research team to ensure successful completion of study objectives.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of food preparation areas, storage spaces, equipment, utensils, and other facilities used in the clinical study. Keep all work areas organized and compliant with food safety and research requirements.

2. Lab work experience in food processing and engineering.
