ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY
Currently searching for five (5) Student Research Assistants to work in the Chemistry & Biochemistry Department, College of Science, under the supervision of Dr. S. Chantal E. Stieber, Principal Investigator
The research assistants will perform scientific experiments to study C-F activation with first row transition metals. The research assistants will use organic and inorganic synthetic techniques to make ligands and complexes. The students will characterize ligands and complexes using techniques such as NMR spectroscopy, IR spectroscopy, EPR, X-ray crystallography, and UV-vis spectroscopy, for example. The students will also search the literature, write research reports, and characterize complexes. Proper laboratory safety training, documentation and presentations are also required.
Cal Poly Pomona student with background in general chemistry {CHM 1210 or equivalent).
