Job summary

UNC Health in Smithfield, NC seeks a Speech Language Pathologist I to provide evaluation, treatment, and education to patients with communication, swallowing, cognition disorders. This per diem position supports departmental and community education and shadowing of students.

Responsibilities include documentation and billing, basic evaluations, plan of care, and clinical precepting of graduate students and fellows. Work onsite with a 4-hour weekly schedule; compensation at $52.02 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Completes speech lang pathologist documentation, billing, and statistics per team guidelines.
• Administers basic evaluation and diagnostic testing and analysis, establishes a plan of care that consists of current and advanced techniques and subsequent modification to accomplish patient goals; Communicates relevant information to promote continuity of care.
• Provides clinical precepting and teaching for graduate students, staff, and clinical fellows under the guidance of the clinical specialist or other subject matter experts.
• Assists in the planning and coordinating of innovative clinical programs in collaboration with the clinical specialist, supervisor, or manager. Participates in continuous improvement in clinical services by attending and participating in departmental meetings and in-services.
