Job summary

Walgreens is seeking an on-site Clinical Specialty Pharmacist in Orlando, FL. This role focuses on upstream review and verification of specialty medication orders, dispensing, and providing guidance to providers on prescriptions, including verbal orders and clarifications.

It is a non-patient facing position aligned with front-end clinical and back-end dispensing to ensure safe, accurate therapy. As part of a large clinical pharmacist team, you will help patients achieve optimal outcomes through

Qualifications

• BS in Pharmacy or Pharmacist degree from an accredited program.
• Current Pharmacist license valid in the appropriate state.
• 2 years' work experience providing customer service to internal and external customers.
• Excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills with ability to lead and coach.

Responsibilities

• Completes patient records/charts, including initial assessment and progress notes.
• Reviews and supervises pharmacy technicians in dispensing processes.
• Conducts patient counseling per protocols and REMS, documents interactions in systems.
• Reviews demographics and prescriptions to ensure appropriate therapy and dosing; assists with compounding as needed.
• Follows procedures for security of controlled substances and sterile compounding where applicable.
• Participates in care coordination to meet patient outcomes and discharge planning.
• Other responsibilities as judgement dictates.
