Job summary

Walgreens is seeking a Clinical Specialty Pharmacist for an on-site role on the Processing Pharmacist Team. You will review and verify specialty medication orders, dispense medications, and support healthcare providers with calls for clarifications.

This non-patient facing position contributes to safe, accurate therapy within a large clinical pharmacy team. The role emphasizes compliance with regulatory standards and collaboration to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Current Pharmacist license in the applicable state.
• Experience performing prescription dispensing with knowledge of state and federal laws.
• 2 years' experience delivering customer service to internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

• Complete patient records and charts including initial and ongoing progress notes.
• Review and supervise pharmacy technicians in dispensing, labeling, packaging, and claim submission.
• Counsel patients per protocol and address drug interactions, side effects, and storage.
• Review demographics and prescriptions to ensure appropriate therapy and dosing.
• Handle sterile compounding and IV preparation where applicable.
• Follow procedures for controlled substances and hazardous waste disposal.
• Coordinate care and participate in discharge planning and care conferences.
