Job summary

Jackson Hospital and Clinic in Montgomery, Alabama seeks a Clinical Specialist Pharmacist for day shifts in a full-time role. You will provide expert pharmaceutical care, review patient therapies, and support a clinical pharmacy program.

You will recommend drug therapy, educate patients and health professionals, enter orders in the computer system, and help supervise technical staff. Alabama licensure and BCPS eligibility are required or strongly preferred.

Qualifications

Job Requirements

• Education: from an accredited School of Pharmacy, ASHP accredited residency (PGY-1), current BCPS certification, or equivalent direct clinical experience (with BCPS eligibility) required.
• Experience: Health system experience preferred but not required.
• Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations: Current licensure in the State of Alabama, controlled substances permit, parenteral license, preceptor license (when eligible), BCLS provider (ACLS preferred).

Job Description

The pharmacist provides quality pharmaceutical care by monitoring patients’ medication therapy and assist in developing a clinical pharmacy program. They will also recommend appropriate drug therapy and serve as an educational resource to patients and other health care professionals. The pharmacist also utilizes a computer system to enter orders, dispense medications and intravenous solutions to patients in an accurate and timely manner and supervises technical employees. The pharmacist checks all technical work before doses are dispensed.
