Summary: The Clinical Specialist will work with the Regional Sales Director and Territory Manager within a defined geographic area to meet existing and potential clients (e.g., physicians, physician office groups at hospitals) to identify their clinical needs, goals, and constraints related to patient care and to discuss and demonstrate how company products can help them achieve their goals and meet patient/client needs. By providing case coverage, the Clinical Specialist will contribute to achieving projected sales goals, Company objectives, and increasing sales revenue.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with the Territory Manager to provide good case coverage and clinical outcomes for patients.
- Serves as the primary resource for clinical support in the areas of coverage, troubleshooting, and in-service education for company products.
- Educates the customer on the merits and proper clinical usage of company products.
- Informs the customer on the latest product, therapy, and technology developments in the industry by actively engaging in procedural and technical discussion.
- Demonstrates the ability to link clinical data to key messaging.
- Meets with existing and potential customers to identify their clinical needs, goals, and constraints related to patient care and provide creative and feasible solutions using company products.
- Transfers account knowledge and other requested information to the local Territory Manager on a weekly basis.
- Maintains excellent interpersonal skills and a strong clinical orientation with the ability to influence a variety of clinician, nurse, and lab tech personality types.
Qualifications:
- Ability to maintain good working relationships while dealing with sensitive and confidential matters.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in business communication and grammar.
- Attention to detail to maintain records and process reports. Knowledge of MS Office systems.
- A thorough knowledge of the medical device market, products, and customer base in the territory.
- Ability to work independently and be self-directed.
Education and Experience:
- BA/BS or equivalent experience preferred. Medical training (RN, cath lab technician, etc.) preferred.
- A minimum of 5+ years of directly related experience, preferably in the medical industry.
- Strong clinical orientation, experience with products for use in interventional cardiology and/or cardiac surgery strongly preferred.
Skills:
- A demonstrated strong work ethic coupled with a sense of urgency to accomplish objectives.
- Ability to establish personal credibility in the targeted territory to deliver our message to clinical staff, administrators, and physicians, overcoming obstacles.
- Emotional intelligence to manage schedules effectively and efficiently.
- Previous industry experience preferably in the Cardiovascular space, calling on Interventional Cardiologists, Vascular Surgeons, Interventional Radiologists, administrators, and clinical staff.
- Previous experience with vessel closure and providing clinical education and training is preferred.
- Values teamwork and collaboration internally and externally with customers.

Pay Transparency:
The base pay offered will consider location, education, skills, and experience. Incentives may include commissions for sales roles or bonuses for non-sales roles, along with participation in long-term incentive plans. We also offer a competitive benefits package including 401(k), stock purchase plan, flexible time off, paid holidays, parental leave, disability insurance, tuition reimbursement, and health benefits.
The salary range for this role is: $66,060.29 - $109,051.90 annually.
