Job summary

Boston Children’s Hospital is seeking a 40-hour LICSW social worker to join our PHP/IOP team in the Waltham area. You will provide short- and long-term therapy to children and adolescents, conduct assessments, and collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team to plan discharge and follow-up care.

Qualified candidates hold a Master’s in social work with MA LICSW licensure and prior experience in pediatric mental health, group therapy, and family work.

Position Summary/Department Summary:

Boston Children’s Hospital at Waltham's campus has a partial hospitalization program (PHP) for children and adolescents experiencing behavioral health difficulties. We are currently seeking a 40 hour LICSW social worker to join our team!

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing short-term individual and group therapy to adolescent patients attending BCH's Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)/Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) Waltham, MA.
• Conducting patient and family assessments, providing individual and group therapy, family therapy when appropriate, collaborating with collateral contacts, and case management for discharge planning.
• Assess and analyze the severity of youth’s presenting problems, including his/her strengths, challenges, environmental stressors and resources and identify the best modality and level of care for their specific problems related to illness.
• Work within a multidisciplinary team including psychiatrists, psychologist, and nursing.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

• Master’s degree in social work

Experience:

• Experience in a mental health, group therapy working with children, adolescents and families is ideal.
• The ability to independently carry cases while working well within an interdisciplinary team model.

Licensure/Certifications:

• MA LICSW licensure required
