Job summary

Children's Health in Plano, TX is seeking a Clinical Social Worker MSW for our Emergency Department. This on-site role provides psychosocial assessments, discharge planning, and coordinated care to families facing hospitalization. Requirements include MSW, LMSW licensure, and pediatric social work experience.

Shift: three 12-hour days (7:00 AM–7:00 PM), Mon/Tue/Sat. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and a collaborative, inclusive team.

Qualifications

  • Must have a Master of Social Work (MSW).
  • LMSW licensure required; LCSW preferred.
  • At least 2 years social work experience; 4+ preferred.

Summary

Implement and administer policies, programs and activities. Responsible for performing psychosocial assessments on families ability to meet their child's healthcare needs. Ensure the preparation and maintenance of required documentation per accreditation standards and CMC's policy.

Responsibilities
  • Perform biopsychosocial screening and assessment of the family's ability to meet their children's healthcare needs by applying specialized knowledge and advance practice skills in assessment treatment, diagnosis of mental illness, planning, implementation and evaluation.
  • Facilitate parent/child adjustment to illness and hospitalization.
  • Coordinate anticipatory discharge to ensure that patient's home - care is prearranged prior to leaving the hospital.
  • Coordinate and direct multidisciplinary patient care conferences focusing both on medical and biopsychosocial needs.
How You'll Be Successful:
  • At least 2 years previous Social Work experience preferred
  • At least 4 years related experience preferred
EDUCATION
  • Masters Degree required
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
  • Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW)-1A-LMSW State of Texas LMSW license required; Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)-1A-LCSW State of Texas LCSW license preferred
