Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a Social Worker (Clinical Assessor) to support the Caregiver Support Program.

The role involves conducting comprehensive assessments, evaluating eligibility for caregiver assistance, and coordinating with interdisciplinary teams to connect Veterans and caregivers with VA resources. The position requires an MSW from a CSWE-accredited program, licensure or certification, and evidence of professional practice.

Qualifications

• United States Citizenship is required.
• MSW from CSWE-accredited program is required.
• Licensure/Certification as social worker at the state level is required or will be reviewed.
• Post-MSW experience is required for creditable experience.
• Knowledge of community resources and ability to coordinate services.
• English language proficiency for appointment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive functional assessments of Veterans to evaluate needs for care services.
• Perform in-home, virtual, and in-clinic assessments for caregiver support programs.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate services and resources.
• Develop and deliver education and outreach for Veterans, caregivers, and staff.
• Provide consultation and guidance on caregiver resources and VA programs.
