Job Summary

UCSF Fresno Alzheimer & Memory Center provides evaluation and diagnosis for dementia in a multidisciplinary environment, culminating in a family conference and recommendations for care with information and referrals to community services. The overall mission of the Alzheimer & Memory Center is to promote advances in the care and management of those suffering from dementia through clinical diagnosis, family and community education, and research into both the biological mechanisms of dementia and the management of symptoms.

The Alzheimer & Memory Center is one of 10 such centers funded by the California Department of health Alzheimer's Disease Program and is administered through UCSF Fresno Medical Education Program. All clinical, educational and community outreach activities are part of the state-supported research agenda of the ARCC.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $38.85 - $67.05 (Hourly Rate).

Required Qualifications

• CSW 1: Master's degree from an accredited school of social work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; and knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position
• CSW 2: Master's degree from an accredited school of social work, and possession of the requirements necessary for application for licensure as a clinical social worker as determined by the California Board of Behavioral Science Examiners; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; and knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position
• Case management experience
• Interviewing skills
• Familiarity with DSM-5 diagnosis
• Basic knowledge of functional and social burdens of caregiving, and ability to give support to caregivers
• Interest in geriatric social work
• Basic knowledge of community resources in the local Fresno area - will acquire training and knowledge on resources in the wider service area of AMC

Preferred Qualifications

• Social work experience in medical or clinical setting
• Experience in gerontology
• Basic cognitive testing training experience
• Public speaking experience
• Bilingual English/Spanish
• Experience in gerontology, especially in dementia
• (ACSW) Certification

License/Certification

• Possession of the requirements necessary for application for (LCSW) licensure as a clinical social worker as determined by the California Board of Behavioral Science Examiners;
