THE OPPORTUNITY:

Hudson County Community College (HCCC) seeks a Clinical Site Manager to join its award-winning and nationally recognized institution. This is an exciting time to be a part of the HCCC community. The Candidate will be an advocate for access to higher education, particularly for first-generation and immigrant students. The successful candidate will preferably have an understanding and a commitment to the role of community colleges in higher education.

Position Summary

The Clinical Site Manager is a full-time, twelve-month (12) position that will be responsible for successfully performing the following professional duties during a consecutive five-day work-week that does not exceed seven hours per day. This position requires substantial off-campus work responsibilities at clinical sites.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Conducts in person visits to clinical sites where newly hired adjunct faculty are assigned.
  • Assesses clinical teaching needs and clinical sites for each semester in conjunction with the Assistant Director; seeks out and identifies emerging clinical sites for both RN and PN Programs.
  • Provides comprehensive mentorship for adjunct faculty for both RN and PN Programs.
  • Manages visits with adjunct faculty throughout the semester to assure all clinical objectives are addressed.
  • Completes all student health requirements for all clinical agencies.
  • Coordinates with the Director of Nursing by identifying adjunct needs and providing information for recruitment of these positions for both RN and PN Programs.
  • Manages and provides orientation to adjunct faculty and workshops throughout the year to assure they are current with course requirements.
  • Facilitates, maintains, and oversees Clinical Affiliation Agreements for both RN and PN Program in collaboration with Department Leadership.
  • Directly assists with the recruitment of adjunct instructors and clinical agency contracts for a growing School of Nursing and Health Professions.
  • Maintains active involvement with instructional staff using individual and group discussion meetings, and with students through regularly scheduled student advising sessions.
  • Manages all necessary paperwork is completed for students clinical requirements, such as health clearances, background checks and other necessary documentation.
  • Participates in:
    • Student learning outcomes assessment activities
    • Assists with all Accreditation Activities and assures accreditation Standards are maintained for all adjunct activities
    • Participates in College and Department Committees
    • Provides Course Instruction is needed and other administrative responsibilities as assigned by the Director
    • Holds office hours as needed each week
    • Performs other professional duties as directed and/or approved by the Director or Vice President.
  • Identify and establish relationships with healthcare facilities (hospitals, clinics, etc.) for clinical rotations, arrange clinical placements for nursing students, ensuring the facility can accommodate to the programs needs, monitor and manage the number of students assigned to each site to ensure proper staffing and student-to-preceptor ratios.
  • Monitor student progress and performance during clinical rotations, address any student or on-site related issues that arise, working to resolve issues promptly, and ensuring students are receiving a well-rounded clinical experience according to the Nursing Programs curriculum.

The Nursing Program has Clinical Affiliation Agreements with Cooperman RWJ Barnabus, CarePoint Health, Hudson Regional Hospital and Atlantic Health System. Also, the Nursing Program has Articulation Agreements with NJCU, Ramapo College and Montclair State University which allows students a seamless pathway to obtain a BSN.

More than 90% of HCCCs students receive scholarships, grants, and loans to finance their education, and the Colleges extensive financial aid program helps connect students with the resources they need. To date, the Colleges Foundation has raised over $3.5 million for student scholarships, and HCCC ranks first in the state of New Jersey for its award of Community College Opportunity Grant funds. About half of its more than 12,000 credit students identify as Hispanic, and more than 33% of all students were born outside of the U.S. In 2021, HCCC had two students selected from a national applicant pool to receive the prestigious Jack Kent Cooke Foundations Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship and recently six students were named as 2023 semi-finalists.
