JOB SUMMARY: The Clinical Site Manager will assist the Director of the Clinical Care Department with the overall management, personnel, and operational functions of the Department. The Clinical Site Manager will administratively supervise other fulltime and part time registered nurses (RN) and medical assistants (MA). The Clinical Site Manager will report to the Department Director and in partnership with operations, and the Clinic Administrator and Development manager to ensure the successful daily operations of PIHC’s outpatient HIV clinics and PrEP services. The Clinical Site Manager will provide direct services to patients with the support of registered nurses, medical assistants, phlebotomists, heath educators and case managers. The Clinical Site Manager administratively reports to the Department Director and is clinically supervised by the Medical Director. All clinical staff provide care per Standard Operating Procedures and protocols set by the Medical Director. This position description should not be interpreted as all inclusive. Requirements
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Duties and Responsibilities
Administrative Responsibilities (60%)
  • Overall supervision of site clinic medical staff including clinical Providers (PA/NP), Registered Nurses (RN), and certified medical assistants (CMA)
  • Assists the Department Director with the overall management, personnel, and operational functions of the Clinical Care Department
  • In the absence of providers and clinical leadership will assume/fulfill the duties and provide coverage for paid time off
  • Supervises the Nurse Managers and medical assistants to ensure consistency of quality across Centers, and to plan work schedules and staff assignments
  • Serves as the administrative support for NPs/PAs including performance improvement
  • Monitors clinical productivity and performance measures
  • Participates and create quality improvement activities
  • Conducts peer reviews of patient medical records in collaboration with NPs/PAs
  • Attends team, agency and community meetings as required
  • Assists Clinical Director to update clinical standards of care, standard operating procedures, standing orders and protocols
  • Assists in interviewing and selecting all clinical staff and students
  • Manages preceptorship requests and schedules for students alongside NPs/PAs
  • Assists with Department planning as well as the management of expenditures to maximize clinical resources
  • Assists Director and Nurse Managers in resolving concerns and issues for clinical staff
  • Investigates patient issues and complaints and assists Director and Nurse Managers in resolving concerns and issues brought by patients
  • Works with Department Director to supervise nurse managers to ensure proper education of staff that is necessary to meet quality, safety and competency requirements
  • Works with Department Director to ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements and established policies and procedures, utilization and clinical/performance standards and measures
  • Conducts work from designated PIHC site to observe day-to-day operations, supervise assigned staff, and provide management of support personnel
  • Assists with the completion of Ryan White and 340B compliance
  • Models excellent customer service to both internal and external clients
Clinical Care Responsibilities (40%)
  • As an NP or PA, provides quality patient care in a timely and efficient manner
  • Responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of acute, chronic, and long-term healthcare issues
  • Orders appropriate follow-up for patients after initial exam visit
  • Makes appropriate specialty care referrals for patients as needed
  • Orders/conducts health maintenance screenings as appropriate for gender and age
  • Serves as medical education resource for both staff and clients as needed
  • Meets with Medical Director weekly as scheduled
  • Maintains accurate and confidential medical records. Documents all medical evaluations, diagnoses, procedures, treatment, outcomes, education, referrals, and consultations consistent with PIHC policies and procedures
  • Maintains continuing education requirements for licensure and national certification
  • Analyzes new knowledge gained from conferences, workshops, professional literature, or "hands-on training" and assimilates this knowledge into clinical practice
  • Participates in PIHC Provider Coverage Schedule
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Possesses and demonstrates an understanding of the fundamentals of HIV care and services, and PrEP services.

  • Proficient in word processing, spreadsheet database and presentation software
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in Nursing (or higher) or Physician Assistant Degree/Program from accredited college or university
Experience
  • At least 2-5 years of experience as NP/PA in clinical setting
  • At least 3-5 years’ managerial/supervisory experience in a clinical setting
License/Licensure
  • Georgia Licensed NP or PA
