Job summary

Innovative Life Healthcare seeks a Clinical Services Manager (LCSW/LPC) to lead behavioral health services in our Residential Program. You will collaborate with program leadership, hospitals, and community partners to ensure high-quality, person-centered care.

This role requires DC licensure, senior clinical experience, and strong leadership in trauma-informed practices. The position is office-based with regular travel to residential sites and community locations, with occasional crisisresponse

Qualifications

  • Must hold an active, unrestricted DC license as LCSW/LICSW or LPC.
  • Minimum of five (5) years post-licensure clinical experience.
  • Minimum three (3) years supporting individuals with IDD and/or SMI; strong trauma-informed care knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical leadership and consultation to residential teams.
  • Review and approve clinical documentation and treatment plans.

Innovative Life Healthcare is seeking an experienced Clinical Services Manager (LCSW/LPC) to provide clinical leadership and oversight of behavioral health services within our Residential Program.

The Clinical Services Manager serves as a primary behavioral health resource for the organization and works collaboratively with program leadership, interdisciplinary teams, hospitals, psychiatrists, behavioral health providers, and community partners to ensure individuals receive high-quality, person-centered, trauma-informed clinical services.

This position is ideal for an experienced licensed behavioral health professional with strong clinical leadership skills and experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and/or serious mental illness (SMI).

Requirements
Clinical Leadership & Oversight
  • Provide clinical leadership and consultation to residential management teams.
  • Review behavioral support plans, therapeutic interventions, crisis prevention strategies, and clinical recommendations.
  • Collaborate with nursing, psychiatry, psychology, behavior specialists, and program leadership.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and complex case reviews.
  • Monitor clinical outcomes and recommend opportunities for improvement.
  • Review and approve clinical documentation submitted by consultants.
Therapeutic & Behavioral Health Services
  • Review therapeutic programming for clinical appropriateness.
  • Evaluate the implementation and effectiveness of behavioral interventions.
  • Develop coping strategies, emotional regulation supports, and trauma-informed interventions.
  • Translate clinical recommendations into practical strategies that residential staff can effectively implement.
  • Provide clinical consultation to program leadership and Direct Support Professionals (DSPs).
  • Assist teams with behavioral crises and recommend appropriate clinical referrals.
Hospital & Community Coordination
  • Train staff in trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, de-escalation, suicide prevention, and behavioral supports.
  • Coordinate psychiatric admissions, discharges, and transitions.
  • Participate in hospital discharge planning.
  • Communicate medication changes and discharge recommendations to appropriate team members.
  • Develop collaborative relationships with community behavioral health providers.
Staff Training & Development
  • Develop and facilitate behavioral health training for staff.
  • Train staff in trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, de-escalation, suicide prevention, and behavioral supports.
  • Coach supervisors and evaluate staff competency related to behavioral health practices.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
  • Support compliance with applicable DC DDS, DC DOH, NJ DDD, Medicaid, CARF, and HIPAA requirements.
  • Maintain required clinical documentation.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities, audits, and surveys.
  • Promote evidence-based and person-centered clinical practices.
  • Assist with clinical policy development and strategic planning.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, or a related field.
  • Active, unrestricted District of Columbia license as an LCSW, LICSW, or LPC.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of post-licensure clinical experience.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience supporting individuals with IDD and/or serious mental illness (SMI).
  • Strong knowledge of behavioral health assessment and intervention.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care and positive behavioral supports.
  • Understanding of IDD services and Medicaid-funded programs.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, training, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Residential or Medicaid-funded behavioral health experience.
  • Experience with DC DDS-funded services.
  • Experience within human services operations.
  • Experience collaborating with psychiatric hospitals.
  • Behavioral health certifications.
  • CARF experience.

This position is primarily office-based with regular travel to residential homes, hospitals, program sites, and community locations. The Clinical Services Manager must be able to travel between program locations and may occasionally be required to participate in behavioral crisis response consistent with organizational policy. Some evening or weekend availability may be required for crisis response.
