Job summary

University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking a Clinical Service Manager (CSM) to lead nursing services within ICE | IGSL Interventional Services CSM. The role has 24/7 accountability for unit operation, budget, staff development, and patient outcomes across Freeway Endoscopy and Main Hospital Endoscopy.

Qualifications include RN license in Arkansas, Bachelor’s in Nursing, and at least five years nursing experience with three years in supervision. Endoscopy experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program with a Bachelor's in Nursing, plus at least5 yearsof experience in nursing and at least 3 of those years ina supervisory capacity.
  • Valid License as a Registered Nurse by the State of Arkansas.

Responsibilities

  • Provides oversight that ensures processes for hiring, onboarding, training, developing and evaluating providers and staff members within the service line to ensure highly competent workforce.
  • Engages all staff in learning the importance of clinical research which leads to better patient outcomes.
  • Engages all staff to participate in clinical research activities pertinent to their job duties.
  • Ensures all patient-family centered care principles are fully acclimated throughout the clinical setting, including service recovery processes to address complaint and incidents for patients, families and visitors.
  • Enhances operational effectiveness with improvement projects for the service line, using solid data and analytics that directly impact key metrics related to people, service, growth, margin and quality.
  • Accountable to outcomes that will include measurable targets for patient quality, satisfaction, clinical metrics, employee satisfaction, work force indicators (turnover, vacancy, advancement), etc.
  • Ensures operations are consistent with the overall direction, goals and focus of the program to include timely response to regulatory agency audit requests, and verifying that required regulatory forms are submitted on time.

Summary of Job Duties: Clinical Service Managers (CSMs) have major responsibility for the implementation of the vision, mission, philosophy, core values, evidence-based practice, and standards of the organization, and nursing services within their defined areas of responsibility. The CSM has authority to make decisions in these areas specific to the unit(s) managed and has 24-hour, 7 days a week accountability for unit operation, including, but not limited to budget, patient/employee satisfaction/professional growth and quality outcomes. This position will manage Freeway Endoscopy and Main Hospital Endoscopy.

Minimum Qualifications:

Ensure efficient business operations (including process improvement) of all aspects of the service line to facilitate patient access, expense management, productivity, patient safety and patient & family-centered care.
  • Recruits and retains qualified individuals who possess the competencies to achieve high levels of performance.
  • Ensure adequate staffing to create a safe, effective and efficient work unit.
  • Manage performance to meet established standards, including but not limited to financial, quality, staffing, service and safety.
  • Utilize a system-based approach to identify, address, improve and resolve any operational or performance issues or gaps.
  • Functions as an effective and productive member of the leadership team by actively contributing to overall strategic planning, vision and mission implementation for the Service Line.
  • Provides broad leadership and ensures success at all levels of the Service Line.
  • Demonstrates effective communication and participative leadership characteristics.
