Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
Location: Doylestown, PA
Contract: 8 Weeks – Temp-to-Hire
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
Position Overview
Client is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) for an 8-week temporary assignment with the opportunity to transition to a full-time staff position. This role is a combination of CMA and Patient Service Representative (PSR) responsibilities.
Candidates must be interested in converting to a permanent Penn Medicine staff position. Candidates must also be able to commute to the practice within 30 minutes.
Responsibilities
Medical Assistant (CMA) Duties
- Room patients and prepare them for appointments.
- Handle patient calls and communications.
- Schedule and book patient appointments.
- Assist providers with clinical and administrative duties.
- Perform other CMA responsibilities as assigned.
- Answer and manage incoming patient phone calls, voicemails, and emails professionally and promptly.
- Schedule patient appointments and coordinate provider calendars.
- Collect, review, and organize medical records and supporting documentation.
- Track referrals and ensure appropriate follow-up.
- Monitor and respond to patient messages and communications.
- Upload and manage patient images, records, and clinical documentation in designated systems.
- Maintain accurate patient information and records.
- Perform additional administrative and operational duties as assigned.
Patient Service Representative (PSR) Duties

Requirements
- 18 months of CMA experience required.
- Current MA certification required.
- Strong patient-facing and communication skills.
- Ability to perform both clinical CMA and administrative PSR duties.
- Must be interested in converting to a full-time Penn Medicine position.
- Must be able to commute within 30 minutes of the practice location.
Interview
- 30-minute Microsoft Teams interview
- Camera required
Training
- HIPAA Module: Approximately 15 minutes.
- MA Training: 5-hour session on the Friday prior to start, 8:00 AM–1:00 PM.
- PennChart Scheduling Training: 4 days, onsite.
- Tuesday–Friday
- 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
- Candidate must pass a test at the end of training.
- Retakes are available if needed.
