Job summary

University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville is seeking a Clinical Service Representative I-Peds ID to support pediatric and adult outpatient clinics at the Jacksonville Campus. You will handle patient check-in/out, collect payments, verify insurance and coordinate with clinical teams for smooth patient flow.

The role requires a high school diploma and preferred clerical/customer service experience in healthcare, including interactions with HIV/AIDS populations and payors.

Qualifications

  • Two to four years clerical/customer service experience preferred, ideally in a health care related industry serving HIV/AIDS population.
  • One year experience with third party payors, and computer experience for imputing data and reviewing patient demographic material preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides first line of support and problem resolution for selected programs and services.
  • Provides customer service for patients accessing multi-disciplinary outpatient clinics (at multiple locations) serving pediatric and adult patients.
  • Expedites check-in/check-out process by reviewing appointment status to view information regarding appointment and insurance information.
  • Collects pre-visit payments and communicates with clinical team members regarding factors impacting the patient visit and general clinic-patient flow.
  • Works with integrated patient centered medical home team to provide patient care and perform administrative duties in a friendly and helpful manner.
  • Serves as a first-line liaison for internal and external customers, including guests, clients, faculty, staff, students, vendors, and others.
  • Greets patients and confirms appointments. Inspects insurance cards or authorization notices.
  • Identifies and collects deductibles, co-payments or deposits on services. Explains and satisfies any necessary patient signature requirements.
  • Performs CSR duties at multiple clinic locations.
  • Makes phone contacts to other departments, physicians, patients and other outside organizations as necessary for the departmental/practice operations.
  • Maintains patient scheduling functions and sets patient appointments through established guidelines.
  • Interviews and completes the registration process for patients utilizing the specific service.
  • Operates various office equipment and computer systems.
  • Performs cashiering functions as it relates to co-payments or other patient payments/collections.
  • Performs routine clerical duties for the department- perform other general office and administrative duties, such as filing, receiving and sorting mail.
  • Provides administrative support to providers and management staff and assists in organization of clinical service.

Expected Salary

$17-$18/Hr Preferred: Two to four years clerical/customer service experience preferred, ideally in a health care related industry serving HIV/AIDS population. One year experience with third party payors, and computer experience for imputing data and reviewing patient demographic material preferred.
