Job summary

Lexington Health is seeking a Medical Assistant/Clinical Scribe in Columbia to support patients and providers with direct and indirect care in a busy clinic.

The role includes patient intake, documentation, scheduling, and entering information into the EPIC EHR system. Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent, as little as 6 months of patient-care experience, and current BLS certification; successful completion of LMC competency assessment during onboarding.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Minimum Years of Experience: 6 months in a patient care setting.
• Substitutable Education & Experience: A Bachelor's degree in a science or health-related field can substitute for the required experience.
• Required Certifications/Licensure: Current Basic Life Support certification (BLS) or may be obtained within 90 days of hire date.
• Required Training: Completion of the basic LMC competency assessment for MAs within probationary period or extension thereof.

Responsibilities

• Assists patients and providers with direct and indirect patient care.
• Documents patient data and observations relevant to patients needs and in accordance with credentials.
• Enters pertinent information into EPIC.
• Schedules physician appointments and arranges patient referrals.
• Maintains established stock levels of clerical supplies.
