Description
The Clinical Scheduler will be responsible for all aspects of coordinating scheduling of all patient visits with the company's clinical staff.
Licensure: LVN required
This position is primarily remote but preference will be given to those living in and familiar with the DFW area.
Education/Experience
- Graduate from an accredited healthcare curriculum. Associates level degree or higher in nursing.
- Three years of professional experience and two years of experience in a home care position strongly preferred.
- Experience as a Home Health Scheduler highly desirable.
- Direct patient care within the last 5 years preferred.
- Homecare Homebase Proficiency Preferred.
Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities
- Maintains daily patient scheduling tasks through HCHB workflow.
- Ensures compliance with all state, federal, and scheduling regulatory requirements.
- Implements procedures to ensure patients are scheduled in accordance with policy.
- Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with current and potential referral sources.
- Demonstrates ability to effectively communicate w/ clinicians through a positive rapport.
- Aware of party reimbursement policies as it relates to scheduling.
- Knowledge of corporate business management, governmental regulations, Agency standards, and private payer practices
- Demonstrates good communication, negotiation, and public relations skills.
- Demonstrates autonomy, organization, assertiveness, flexibility and cooperation in performing job responsibilities.
- Able to multi task under time pressure.
- Available via various technology platforms after hours to assure consistent, timely intake process.
- Knowledge of HCHB documentation software/workflow preferred.
Position Qualifications
- Must have excellent computer word processing skills.
- Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in use of electronic medical record systems. (HomeCare HomeBase-HCHB)
- Proficient in Google/Office products.
- Must be willing and able to learn new computer software with training provided.
- Must develop thorough knowledge of home health services and clinical practice, Medicare Conditions of Participation, home health accreditation requirements, reimbursement policies of Medicare and other payors as they relate to scheduling.
- Must be detail-oriented and excellent in time management
- Must be able to follow a defined list of tasks and follow the established procedures completing them in a timely fashion.
- Must be able to flex with the increased workflow when census is higher and recognize urgency of each task.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills in all interactions with patients, physicians, and staff, demonstrating excellent customer service.
- Must be able to exercise good judgment in prioritizing workload, working with minimal supervision, and organizing and completing tasks accurately and in a timely manner.
- Ability to maintain harmonious constructive relationships with internal and external customers.
