Job summary

CHCP is seeking a Clinical Rotation Preceptor - Surgical Technologist to supervise and mentor students in a hands-on, on-site setting. The role focuses on socializing students into the health care provider role through formal and informal education, guiding clinical learning experiences and promoting student autonomy.

Qualifications

• CST certification required.
• 3+ years of experience as a Surgical Technologist.

Responsibilities

• Directs overall goals and objectives for the practicum experience based on student outcome objectives provided by College faculty.
• Assists the student in applying theory to practice.
• Evaluates the student’s identified learning objectives.
• Assists the student to develop and improve performance.
• Utilizes appropriate teaching methods to help the student to meet learning objectives.
• Facilitate an informal, collaborative and mutually respectful learning environment.
• Review the course and student objectives to determine learning opportunities.
• Promptly communicate issues of concern or unsafe practice to clinical faculty.
• Other duties as assigned.
