Job summary

Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital in Valencia, CA, is seeking a Clinical Registered Nurse for our Emergency Department. You will apply the nursing process to care for a patient group, triage, discharge, and support admitted ED patients in a fast-paced environment.

We value strong communication, organization, critical thinking, problem solving, and computer skills. Certification in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and CA RN licensure are required, with ASN essential and BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Active California RN license required.
• Current BLS, ACLS and PALS provider cards.
• BRN-approved pediatric emergency education every 4 years or equivalent.
• MAB certification current.
• ASN required; BSN strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently use the nursing process to care for ED patients per HMNMH policies.
• Triage, discharge, and care for admitted ED patients in a fast-paced environment.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and support staff to ensure timely, safe care.
• Uphold regulatory requirements and patient safety standards.

Job Summary:

The Clinical Registered Nurse is responsible for independently utilizing the nursing process to safely, therapeutically and efficiently care for a group of patients based on HMNMH’s policies, procedures and all regulatory requirements. The Clinical Registered Nurse is responsible for triaging, discharging, and caring for admitted patients in the Emergency Department.

What You'll Bring to the Team:

• Competency utilizing Meditech EHR preferred

Licensure and Certification:

• Current California RN license
• Certification by appropriate governing body desirable (AACN, ANCC) preferred
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS provider cards
• 14 hours of BRN approved pediatric emergency education every 4 years required; or Two day Pediatric Emergency Course preferred (not PALS)
• Current MAB certification

Education:

• Associate’s degree in Nursing (ASN) required
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) strongly preferred

Experience:

• Minimum 1 year acute hospital experience preferred
