Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking a registered nurse to join our patient care teams across northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin. You will utilize the nursing process, collaborate with interdisciplinary colleagues, and provide safe, high-quality care to diverse patients.

The role requires ADN with RN licensure, CPR/BLS within 90 days, and BSN preferred. Compensation includes competitive pay and benefits; pay range is $31.21 - $46.81 per hour.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• ADN required upon hire, BSN preferred.
• Licensed as an RN in state of practice.
• CPR/BLS certification required within 90 days.
• Other certification(s) per department requirements (ACLS, PALS, PEARS, NRP).

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process and collaborates with interdisciplinary team members in caring for patients.
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments per approved nursing techniques, policies and procedures, standards of care, and State laws/practice act.
• Performs assessments, planning, intervention and evaluation of care.
• Documents according to standards of care.
• Develops and executes a patient plan of care according to individualized needs, as prescribed by Physician or clinic policy.
• Educates patients and families to the appropriate level of understanding.
• Resolves system breakdowns and engages self and others in providing solutions.
• Participates in department or unit performance improvement activities, may include shared governance.
• Utilizes clinical expertise to support patient’s longitudinal plan of care.
• Uses critical thinking for patient safety and experience and escalates appropriately.
• Participates in the professional nursing continuum process and peer review.
