Job summary

Physicians’ Surgery Center of Tidewater in Virginia Beach affiliated with USPI is seeking a Clinical Director to provide strategic and operational leadership for all clinical functions at the ASC. You will ensure high-quality, patient-centered care and coordinate among nursing, anesthesia, surgical, and support staff.

The role partners with the Administrator on budgeting, staffing, and performance improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited nursing school.
• Current RN license.
• Proven experience as clinical director or other nursing leadership role.
• Experience in clinical supervision and program management.

Responsibilities

• Provide strong leadership, direction, and supervision to the clinical staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
• Must have OR experience, perioperative experience preferred.
• Ensure clinical operations run efficiently and safely, monitor and maintain high standards of patient care and safety.
• Stay up-to-date with healthcare regulations, certifications, and licensure; ensure compliance.
• Lead quality improvement initiatives and promote continuous improvement.
• Recruit, train, and develop clinical staff, ensuring qualifications and certifications are met.
• Collaborate with administrative team to manage the clinical budget.
• Work with physicians, surgeons, anesthesiologists, and staff to optimize patient care and operations.

Job Description

The Clinical Director provides strategic and operational leadership for all clinical functions of the ASC. They ensure high-quality, patient-centered care; compliance with federal, state, and accreditor standards; and effective coordination among nursing, anesthesia, surgical, and support staff. The Clinical Director partners with the Administrator on budgeting, staffing, and performance improvement initiatives. This position requires a highly organized, detail-oriented individual with strong leadership skills, clinical expertise, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Leadership: Provide strong leadership, direction, and supervision to the clinical staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
• Clinical Experience: Must have OR experience, perioperative experience preferred.
• Clinical Oversight: Ensure that clinical operations run efficiently and safely. Monitor and maintain high standards of patient care and safety.
• Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date with all relevant healthcare regulations, certifications, and licensures. Ensure the surgery center complies with all state and federal laws and regulations.
• Quality Improvement: Lead quality improvement initiatives and ensure adherence to best practices in clinical care. Promote a culture of continuous improvement.
• Staff Development: Recruit, train, and develop clinical staff, ensuring they meet all necessary qualifications and certifications.
• Budget Management: Collaborate with the administrative team to manage the clinical budget effectively.
• Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, surgeons, anesthesiologists, and administrative staff to optimize patient care and operational efficiency.
