Job summary

UNC Health Rex Healthcare seeks a Clinical Risk Manager to administer the risk program, document and analyze data, and educate on risk topics to improve patient safety and protect organizational assets. You will collaborate across departments, manage incident reports, and support compliance with state and federal guidelines.

You will lead risk assessments, consult with clinicians, and develop policies while aligning with UNC Health standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Five years' combined risk management, clinical, quality or legal experience.

Responsibilities

• Initiates investigations of professional and general liability events; analyzes exposures and recommends action.
• Implements ISO 31000 framework for risk identification, analysis and mitigation.
• Manages incident reporting and investigates patient harm events.
• Drafts policies and reports to regulators as required.
• Provides risk management consultation to clinicians and staff.
• Coordinates with Quality Improvement and Medication Safety to set safety goals.
• Conducts special projects; presents findings to leadership.
