Launched in 2014, Sanford Imagenetics changes the way providers see risks and patients see their health by integrating genomic medicine into primary care. Clinical Care, Education and Research are the three pillars of the Imagenetics initiative and the Research program manager will play a key role in managing the Imagenetics Research portfolio which include the following areas of focus: Population genomics research, health and economic outcomes research and Polygenic risk score. For Pharmacogenomics: evaluation of clinical decision support tools, patient and provider satisfaction, medication class specific health outcomes, healthcare utilization and discovery projects aimed at providing additional information to expand available recommendations.

The Research Program manager will also play a key role in ImagineYou, population health research study that provides a clinical return of results for CDC Tier 1 genetic conditions: Familial Hypercholesterolemia (hereditary high cholesterol), Hereditary breast and ovarian cancers, Lynch Syndrome (hereditary colon cancer).

The Research Program manager will work very closely with Sanford Health Imagenetics team members who are experts in the field of genomics in specialized areas such clinical genetics, pharmacogenomics, bioinformatics, research. They will partner with colleagues in Enterprise Data analytics, IT, Marketing, Health Plan to ensure research operations run smoothly and projects successfully meet milestones

Job Description

Works independently with minimal direction on day-to-day work. Determines own methods and approaches to work; establishes work priorities and timelines for own work, as well as project teams. Program management often requires problem resolution for unique and complex challenges and requires generation of solutions that look beyond the immediate problem to wider implications.

Builds professional networks and identifies and connects resources to solve issues and achieve goals. Serves as a resource for leadership, stakeholders, and project team. Aligns program projects and assesses the impact of programs on business performance. Provides direction and leadership to project teams working on program projects. Defines the scope of the program and projects that support it while defining best practices, processes, and policies to ensure alignment with program objectives.

Plans, organizes, and delivers key projects/programs and its activities in accordance with the mission and goals of the organization. Details the road map for program management within focal area. Manages resources, schedules, financials and adheres to quality and control guidelines. Assesses program/project risks, proposes resolutions, manages change requests, and tracks implementation of resolution through to completion. Verifies that the program achieves the proposed benefits defined in the business case.

The Program Manager has authority over the program and its projects and assumes responsibility for the overall program. Contributes to process improvement initiatives as it relates to improving program/project delivery. Serves as change agent, influencing stakeholders and project deliverable to change organizational culture and processes. Presents program/project proposals, updates, and outcomes to senior leadership. According to team and organizational needs, may perform project manager duties.

Qualifications

Must have a Bachelor's degree in health services, life sciences, biomedical sciences, nursing, or clinical field required. Master's degree in public health, health care, business, or science related fields is preferred.

Minimum of five years' experience managing full life-cycle projects desired.

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (or equivalent educational training) desired.For those hired into this position with emphasis in supporting Clinical Research responsibilities as defined by Research leadership, certification through Association of Clinical Research Professions (ACRP) or Society of Clinical Research Associates (SoCRA) is required within two years of employment into position.For those not supporting Clinical Research responsibilities as defined by Research leadership, certification is not required.As required by position, currently licensed with the applicable State Nursing Board and/or possess multistate licensure privileges.
