Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a research nurse to oversee clinical trials, coordinate protocol activities, and support evidence-based practice.

Responsibilities include identifying eligible patients, assessing patient understanding, educating patients and staff, and ensuring IRB and regulatory compliance across specialties. PA RN licensure and clinical research experience are required.

Qualifications

• Current State of PA RN licensure OR current multi-state licensure through the eNLC.
• 2 years in a nursing role or relevant patient-facing clinical research experience.
• Experience with Windows based computer programs.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
• 2 years as a research nurse preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plans, coordinates, and manages all activities related to specific clinical trials (50%).
• Collaborates with the PI and other staff in identifying potentially eligible patients (15%).
• Assesses patients’ knowledge and understanding of the clinical trial (15%).
• Provides education to patient, family, and staff involved in clinical trials (10%).
• Troubleshoots problems with support areas in fulfilling requirements of the research protocol (5%).
• Ensures compliance with the IRB and all regulatory agencies (5%).
• Position may support activities relevant to specific specialties or disciplines; applicable skills may be included in postings.
