Job summary

Highmark Health in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking a Clinical Research Nurse to manage research projects in accordance with study protocols, regulatory requirements, and institutional policies, while performing clinical and administrative activities to support evidence-based practice.

You will collaborate with investigators and staff to identify eligible patients, educate patients and families about trials, ensure IRB compliance, and troubleshoot protocol issues to maintain study integrity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
• 2 years in a nursing role or relevant patient-facing clinical research experience.
• Current PA RN licensure or multi-state licensure via eNLC.
• CPR certification (American Heart Association).
• Background clearances: Act 34, Act 33, Act 73, FBI fingerprinting.

Responsibilities

• Manage all activities related to specific clinical trials.
• Collaborate with the Principal Investigator and staff to identify potentially eligible patients.
• Assess patients’ knowledge and understanding of the clinical trial.
• Provide education to patients, families, and staff involved in clinical trials.
• Troubleshoot problems with support areas in fulfilling research protocol requirements.
• Ensure compliance with the IRB and all regulatory agencies.
• Perform other duties as assigned or required.
