K2 is searching for a Clinical Research Navigator for our clinic in The Villages, FL and the external sites it supports.

Description:

As a Clinical Research Navigator, you will play a vital role in connecting patients with research opportunities, facilitating their participation in clinical trials, and supporting the advancement of medical knowledge through the clinical research as a care option concept embedded into a clinical practice. You will be responsible for guiding patients through the research process, addressing their concerns, and coordinating with the research team to ensure a seamless experience. This role involves pre-screening, chart reviewing, patient follow-up, trial matching, education facilitation, and coordination between patients and research clinics or resources. The position is based out of our clinical partnership’s offices.

Primary Responsibilities:
  1. Patient Engagement: Identify eligible patients within the internal medicine practice, educate them about research participation benefits and risks, and promote informed decisions.
  2. Prescreening: Conduct pre-screenings to assess eligibility, gather medical info, and coordinate with the research team.
  3. Chart Reviewing: Review patient records to identify research opportunities and ensure accurate documentation.
  4. Patient Follow-up: Maintain contact with enrolled patients, provide updates, and address concerns, building trust and rapport.
  5. Trial Match: Collaborate with research teams to match patients with suitable trials considering their medical history and preferences.
  6. Coordination: Facilitate scheduling, transportation, and documentation for patients and research activities.
  7. Resource Referral: Connect patients with additional support resources as needed.
  8. Compliance and Ethics: Uphold ethical standards, confidentiality, and adhere to GCP guidelines.
  9. Documentation: Keep detailed records of interactions and research activities.
  10. Communication: Ensure clear communication with clinic staff, participate in clinic activities, and follow policies.
  11. Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Self-directed with problem-solving skills, able to work independently.
  • Professional, goal-oriented, organized, compassionate, and customer-focused.
  • Strong knowledge of clinical research principles, procedures, and regulations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of explaining complex info clearly.
  • Detail-oriented with multitasking and prioritization skills.
  • Empathetic approach to patient care, capable of building rapport.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English.
  • Committed to ongoing professional development and staying current with research advancements.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field (preferred).
  • Experience in clinical research or patient navigation (highly desirable).
  • Knowledge of research methods, protocols, and regulatory guidelines (FDA, ICH-GCP).
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage patients, physicians, and staff.
  • Empathetic, patient-centered approach.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with EMR systems and clinical software.
  • Ability to interpret medical terminology and records.
