Job summary

The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) seeks up to three candidates for three- to five-year appointments as assistant clinical investigators. Positions may be located on NIH campuses in Bethesda, MD or Rockville, MD, offering a unique opportunity to gain clinical and translational research experience in the DIR.

Applicants will be mentored by a senior NIAID investigator; salary is commensurate with experience and civil service benefits may apply. Candidates may be U.S.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree (M.D. or M.D./Ph.D.) required.
• Board eligibility or board certification in a subspecialty (or equivalent).
• Meet the requirements to be credentialed at the NIH Clinical Center.

Responsibilities

• Gain clinical and translational research experience in the NIAID Division of Intramural Research.
• Be mentored by a senior NIAID investigator and develop a defined research program with DIR support.
• Identify a DIR laboratory chief who will host the proposed research program and coordinate with DIR labs.
