Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System is seeking a Research Program Coordinator to support the implementation and day-to-day coordination of a research study. The role works under Drs.

Ash Tewari and Nihal Mohamed, collaborating with principal investigators and the research team to support recruitment, data collection, regulatory activities, and database management. The candidate should have a strong background in natural sciences, 4–5 years of research experience, and familiarity with IRB and data

Qualifications

• Masters degree in Natural Sciences OR Bachelor’s in Natural Sciences with 5 years of progressive research experience; some research administration experience preferred.
• 4 years of research experience (5 years if no Masters) in data management and study coordination in healthcare or basic research.
• Experience with clinical research coordination, participant recruitment, or human subjects research preferred.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate effectively with patients, investigators, and research staff.
• Experience with electronic research databases and data entry preferred.
• Familiarity with IRB and human subjects research requirements preferred.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive participant information.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with a multidisciplinary research team

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day research activities and support successful study implementation.
• Assist with patient recruitment and enrollment, including screening and enrollment coordination.
• Conduct and coordinate follow-up assessments according to the protocol.
• Participate in qualitative and quantitative data collection, including focus group coordination and coding.
• Enter research data and maintain up-to-date study databases at ISMMS.
• Prepare regulatory documents for human subjects research under PI supervision.
• Coordinate IRB submissions, continuing reviews, amendments, and other regulatory activities.
• Organize and participate in weekly and biweekly research team meetings.
• Assist with continuation/final reports, manuscripts, and presentations.
• Maintain study documentation and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
• Perform other research coordination activities as needed.
