Job summary

The Ohio State University is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator to coordinate daily research activities in the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism. You will identify eligible patients, recruit, obtain informed consent, and educate participants about study goals and procedures.

You will manage scheduling, data collection, and biological sample handling, while ensuring compliance with IRB, FDA and sponsor requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biological sciences, health sciences, social sciences or other medical field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• One year experience in a clinical research capacity required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology desired; clinical research certification from an accredited certifying agency desired.
• Computer skills required with experience using Microsoft software applications desired.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and perform daily clinical research activities in accordance with approved protocols for the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism.
• Assist with assessing patient records to identify eligibility, recruit, interview and enroll patients, and obtain informed consent.
• Educate patients and families about study purpose and processes; coordinate scheduling and follow-through of care appointments and testing.
• Participate in collection, processing and evaluation of biological samples; administer and score diagnostic or behavioral testing.
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions, report to appropriate clinical professionals, and ensure regulatory compliance with IRB, FDA and sponsor requirements.
• Collect, extract, code and analyze data; generate reports to ensure data validity and support external QA and audits.
