Job Summary

GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT: The Center for Addiction Medicine is hiring a Clinical Research Coordinator who will work independently and under the general supervision of the Center Program Director and/or the study Principal Investigator(s). The coordinator will support multi-year clinical research studies, serving as the primary research coordinator on community-based trials, working both in the lab and at external data collection sites. Responsibilities include patient scheduling, recruitment, administering psychiatric scales and neuropsychological testing, monitoring adverse events, managing study databases, and ensuring quality assurance.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Collect and organize patient data, maintain records and databases.
  2. Use software to generate reports and graphs.
  3. Assist with patient recruitment for clinical trials.
  4. Obtain study data from medical records and physicians.
  5. Conduct literature searches and verify accuracy of study forms.
  6. Update study forms per protocol and document patient visits.
  7. Assist with regulatory binders, QA/QC procedures, and regulatory submissions.
  8. Assist with interviewing subjects, administering questionnaires, and obtaining informed consent.
  9. Perform study procedures, including phlebotomy if required.
  10. Write consent forms and verify subject eligibility criteria.
  11. Provide administrative support as needed.

For Clinical Research Coordinator II:

  1. Maintain research data, study databases, and regulatory binders.
  2. Perform data analysis, organize, and interpret data.
  3. Develop recruitment strategies and act as a resource for patients and families.
  4. Monitor lab and procedure data, evaluate questionnaires, and contribute to protocol recommendations.
  5. Assist with study reports and annual reviews.

  • Good communication, computer literacy, knowledge of research protocols.

Additional for Coordinator II:

  • Ability to work independently and in teams, analytical skills, data management knowledge.
