Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator to evaluate, initiate, and manage activities related to the conduct of clinical trials. You will communicate with sponsors, ensure protocol adherence, and coordinate patient care under supervision of senior staff.

The role requires education as stated and at least 1 year of relevant experience or a life science degree, plus BLS certification within 60 days of hire. Travel between facilities may be required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical and clinical research terminology and processes.
• Familiarity with ICH guidelines for ethical conduct of research.
• Ability to follow the investigational plan in execution of study visits.
• Strong organizational and time management skills and ability to multi-task and pay close attention to detail.
• Knowledge of the requirements and regulations associated with conduct of clinical trials and related research activity.
• Proficiency in using Epic.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to travel throughout and between facilities and work a flexible work schedule.

Responsibilities

• Assists in recruitment and screening of study participants.
• Coordinates and oversees participant activity related to research and clinical trials including informed consent.
• Arranges necessary tests and procedures per protocol and reports results.
• Performs clinical laboratory activities as required per protocol.
• Develops and maintains documentation for the conduct of trials and patient care.
• Completes data entry into sponsor systems and supports data coordination.
• Ensures compliance with Good Clinical Practice Guidelines.
