Job summary

The University of Massachusetts Medical School invites applications for a Clinical Research Coordinator II. Under the direction of the PI, you will independently perform delegated tasks involving human subjects research, coordinating regulatory activities and data management for complex protocols.

The Smelson lab studies co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders, focusing on vulnerable populations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a scientific or health-related field or equivalent experience.
• 1-3 years of related experience.
• Ability to travel off site locations.

Responsibilities

• Obtain consent of research participants per IRB-approved protocols.
• Schedule and conduct participant visits, tests, or interviews.
• Ensure regulatory documentation is accurate and complete.
• Conduct preliminary QA reviews of study data.
• Assist with grant/contract finances and research billing reviews.
• Present study status reports for assigned projects.
• Contribute to data presentations and IRB processes.
• Maintain study information in the data management system.
• Assist in design and documentation of data collection tools.
• Monitor inventory of research supplies.
• Document data/samples collected during visits.
• Ensure protocol compliance and report issues to PI.
• Adhere to safety and infection control standards.
• Follow Good Clinical Practice and human subject protection practices.
