Job summary

UC San Diego's Department of Psychiatry is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator to support multicenter trials in eating disorders. You will manage protocol activities, screen patients for eligibility, collect and monitor data, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards across study sites.

You will collaborate with physicians and therapists, assist with budgeting, invoicing, and study account statements, and help maintain accurate trial files.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in psychology or related field.
• Experience performing clinical research duties.
• Experience using REDCap and Qualtrics; knowledge of Velos, Excel and MS Word.
• Experience with laboratory procedures and linking them to patient safety.
• Demonstrated experience with eating disorder populations.
• Experience interviewing patients to determine toxicities.
• Experience interpreting medical charts and abstracting data.
• Knowledge of NIH, GCP, HRPP, IATA and Bloodborne Pathogens.
• Experience with clinical trials recruitment.
• Experience coordinating study startup activities.
• Experience training staff on protocols and procedures.
• Experience maintaining files and records.
• Strong planning and organizational skills in a changing environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and with a team.
• Experience completing case report forms.
• Ability to interact with diverse groups.

Responsibilities

• Support protocol management for clinical trials in eating disorders.
• Screen patients for eligibility and collect data.
• Monitor patient safety and report adverse events.
• Prepare and submit regulatory documents and safety reports.
• Coordinate data submission and laboratory specimen handling.
• Communicate with physicians and therapists; attend trainings and meetings.
• Assist Project Manager with reviewing university research accounts and invoicing.
