Job Description - Clinical Research Coordinator - Department of Pediatrics (26247)

The Department of Pediatrics at West Virginia University Research Corporation is currently accepting applications for a Clinical Research Coordinator.

About the Opportunity

This position will provide high-level, day-to-day support for the WVU School of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics. Responsibilities include:

• Managing project activities in collaboration with the full Team.
• Assisting with the planning, recruitment, and conduct of focus groups and interviews with research participants.
• Conducting analysis on quantitative data.
• Assisting with the writing of scientific abstracts, manuscripts, and grants based on this work.
• Providing ongoing project monitoring to ensure progress is on schedule.
• Facilitating communication and collaboration among evaluation partners and stakeholders.
• Preparing reports on the project’s evaluation activities and findings.
• Overseeing and participating in the planning and conduct of focus groups and interviews.
• Coordinating virtual quarterly meetings and annual in-person meetings.
• Assisting the PI with decision making and problem solving.
• Working with the PI and the Pediatric Research Unit to ensure effective budget monitoring.
• Presenting project analysis and recommendations to senior leadership.
• Adhering to WVU School of Medicine standards in project management.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or PhD in public health, psychology, sociology, social work, public administration, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of one (1) year of experience in research or project management in medical, mental health, or public health-related research or evaluation.
• Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience will be considered.
• All qualifications must be met by the time of employment.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of the mission, goals, and policies of the Pediatric Research Unit.
• Knowledge of evaluation methodology in a community setting focused on health-related topics.
• Demonstrated organizational skills to plan and prioritize tasks.
• Excellent communication skills (oral, written, face-to-face) and ability to perform professionally with individuals of various backgrounds.
• Ability to manage multiple project activities with attention to detail.
• Effective public speaking skills.
• Skilled in the proficient use of computer software including spreadsheet, word processing, and data analysis software.
• Ability to work independently and problem-solve effectively.
• Ability to communicate in English using proper grammar and punctuation.
• Ability to maintain proper attendance and punctuality standards.
