Job Description Summary
As part of the Department of Psychiatry, the Neurodevelopment & Psychosis Section and the Lifespan Brain Institute (LiBI) are devoted to the study of brain and behavior throughout the lifespan. The Clinical Research Coordinator will be responsible for research activities in Psychosis related studies including recruitment and screening efforts, interviews with established assessment procedures, cognitive batteries and quality control.
Job Description
The Psychosis Research Center is recruiting a Clinical Research Coordinator for ongoing, collaborative research projects involving psychosis and related disorders. The projects include various study activities including clinical assessment of participants with established instruments and scales as well as administration of a computerized neurocognitive battery. The projects are longitudinal and involve multiple visits and procedures, including neuroimaging and obtaining samples of blood and cerebrospinal fluid.
The Clinical Research Coordinator's primary responsibilities include overseeing the protocols and the collection and maintenance of study data. These responsibilities include conducting various study activities or procedures such as recruitment, screening and intake, informed consent administration, clinical assessment with established scales, monitoring study visit schedules and adhering to quality control measures. Training on study measures will be provided. The position will work closely with the Principal Investigators and requires coordination with multiple Penn departments, collaborators and other study sites.
The CRC-B will share similar duties as the CRC-A but can operate more independently while also being a team player. Prior experience as a research assistant, data coordinator or study coordinator preferred.
Qualifications
CRC-A: Bachelor's Degree in biomedical related field with 1-2 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Educational background in clinical psychology and past experience working with psychosis is preferred. High organizational skills and established skills in complex clinical studies are essential. Must be able to multi-task and shift from one project to another depending upon priority. Candidates must possess demonstrated computer skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, data management skills, and experience working independently.
CRC-B: Bachelor's Degree in biomedical related field with 2-3 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Masters degree and past experience working with psychosis is preferred. Excellent interpersonal, writing and analytical skills. Must be detail oriented with excellent organizational and multitasking skills. The candidate should possess the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and delegate tasks among team members and lead in training activities of new staff.
Background check required. Must pass Pennsylvania's Child Protective Services Act (also known as Act 73) background checks, within 30-90 days of employment. Position contingent on funding.
