St. Luke’s invites applications for the Clinical Research Coordinator 1 role in our Idaho research program.

The coordinator will work under supervision to identify eligible patients, obtain informed consent, and ensure accurate protocol implementation across pediatric and adult studies. Responsibilities include data extraction from records, adverse event documentation, and collaboration with physicians and IRB requirements.

Qualifications

• Requires 2 years of experience in clinical research.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Identify eligible patients for studies and ensure protocol adherence.
• Conduct informed consent processes and document accordingly.
• Review clinical records and extract data to determine eligibility and submit data.
• Carry out study activities per protocol and monitor patient progress.
• Document research processes, adverse event grading, consent, and study progress in EHR.
• Submit Serious Adverse Events reports to the sponsor with physician collaboration.
• May maintain the clinical trials management system and prepare reports.

What to Expect

The Clinical Research Coordinator 1 will support studies across the Research Department. Therapeutic areas may include pediatric and adult specialties, cystic fibrosis, endocrinology, inpatient research, pulmonology, cardiology, and other areas as department needs evolve.

Under general supervision, the Clinical Research Coordinator 1 is responsible for identifying eligible patients for research and ensuring that research protocols are carried out accurately through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.

• Under supervision, conducts and documents informed consent process.
• Reviews clinical records and extracts necessary data to determine eligibility and complete data submission via the appropriate mechanism.
• Conducts research activities per protocol.
• Documents research process, adverse event grading, consent process, patient progress on study in electronic medical record.
• Initiates and submits Serious Adverse Events reports to study sponsor in collaboration with the physician and principal investigator.
• May maintain clinical trials management system; prepare reports as needed.
• May prepare for and conduct study monitor visits and audits.
• Serves as liaison and reference to physicians, investigators and other staff members for questions regarding the research process.
• Collaborates with investigator and regulatory staff regarding Institutional Review Board requirements.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience: 2 years' experience.
• Licenses/Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Certified through American Safety and Health Institute, American Heart Association, or American Red Cross.
