General Summary:
The Clinical Research Nurse Coordinator leads, manages, and coordinates research programs and studies for the Clinical Research Program and physician Principal Investigators. Provides nursing leadership in accordance with protocol requirements, physicians’ orders, and applicable medical center policies and procedures; performs related work as required. Ensures hospital compliance with federal and state regulations and sponsor guidelines to maintain approval for study participation.
Supports the mission of Trinity Health and Holy Cross Hospital.
Bachelor’s Degree required; BSN strongly preferred; MSN strongly preferred. Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse or Nurse Practitioner. Clinical Research Certification preferred. Good Clinical Practice (GCP) Certification, Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification, Driver's License.
At least three years of nursing experience, with active practice within the past 5 years preferred. Minimum one year of experience in leading or coordinating clinical research studies is required. Experience in Oncology is preferred. Must have effective communication skills, both oral and written. Proficiency with personal computers, database procedures, spreadsheets, and word processing software. Ability to accurately collect and record clinical information, organize data for report generation, and plan recruitment campaigns. Capable of coordinating activities of a multidisciplinary research team including physicians. Maintains patient confidentiality and can delegate tasks to support staff.
Reports directly to the Manager of Holy Cross Hospital Clinical Research Program. Responsibilities are to be organized and implemented through self-direction and initiative.
