Job summary

The University of Washington’s Clinical Trials Office is seeking a Clinical Research Billing Specialist to join the team and support accurate, compliant billing across a complex portfolio. Reporting to the Clinical Research Billing Manager, you will help translate billing grids, Epic workflows, OnCore data, and Medicare rules into high-quality operational processes.

You will collaborate with billing colleagues, study teams, practice sites and stakeholders to ensure timely revenue cycle

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, business, healthcare administration, or a related field with at least two years of related experience.
  • Experience with Epic Resolute, including hospital and/or professional billing workflows.
  • Strong customer service, written and oral communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

  • Review research billing activity to ensure charges route according to the study billing grid and Epic charge documentation, focusing on high-dollar and aging accounts.
  • Resolve charge review and other escalated research billing questions with relevant teams.
  • Support timely SBO research invoicing, including corrections and missing charges.
  • Process invoice payments and follow up on aging invoices to promote timely revenue cycle outcomes.
  • Ensure accurate handoff from OnCore to Epic when studies are activated or updated and perform quality control on study records.
