Job summary

Boston Children's Hospital is seeking a Study Coordinator in the Bone Marrow Failure Program under Dr. Akiko Shimamura to support clinical research through patient consent, data extraction from medical records, and shipment coordination for samples.

You will learn clinical research processes, review eligibility criteria, and assist with IRB submissions. A bachelor’s in science and 0–1 year of research experience are required.

Responsibilities

• Consents and enrolls patients for research studies; explains study details.
• Obtains informed consent and identifies eligible participants.
• Serves as liaison to families/patients; guides them through study phases.
• Troubleshoots issues; coordinates IRB submissions for PI approval.
• Tracks enrollment progress and assists with study documents.
• Assists with manuscript preparation and cross‑department coordination.
• Monitors data collection and informed consent procedures for consistency.
