Overview of Position:

Under minimal supervision, provides clinical supervision, direction, and training to associates treating severe or complex behaviors in individuals with autism and related disorders using ABA. Ensures high-quality ABA services through assessment, treatment, staff training, and administrative adherence. Monitors staff productivity, participant census, and service delivery expansion. Conducts assessments, treatment planning, consultations, and direct supervision as needed.

Essential Functions:
  1. Plans, organizes, directs, and evaluates program elements related to Severe Behavior Services, including supervision of BCBAs, leading team meetings, and developing work products.
  2. Participates in leadership activities, including meetings and committees.
  3. Provides consultation on challenging behavior cases to clinicians and associates from other departments.
  4. Oversees assessments for severe or complex behavior cases, ensuring documentation accuracy and updates.
  5. Develops resources and training on providing services for individuals with severe or complex behavior.
  6. Collaborates with funding sources to maintain relationships, adhere to contracts, and ensure quality assurance.
  7. Develops and monitors program budgets and collaborates with other departments on organizational initiatives.
  8. Stays current with research and trends in autism and related fields, participating in presentations and research initiatives.
  9. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education:

Master’s degree in ABA, Education, Psychology, or related field from an accredited university. Doctorate is a plus. BCBA certification required.

Experience:

5–7 years of experience as a practicing BCBA, including at least 3 years overseeing treatment for severe or complex behaviors and 2 years supervising BCBAs. Extensive multidisciplinary team experience and training in ABA best practices preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
  • Competency in assessing severe or complex behaviors using ABA, including indirect and direct methods.
  • Expertise in treating socially mediated or automatically maintained behaviors with ABA.
  • Fluency in behavioral principles and developing function-based interventions.
  • Knowledge of behavior management safety protocols.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and graphing tools.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and professionalism skills.
  • Ability to interpret policies, exercise discretion, and handle sensitive information.
  • Ability to pass physical, TB test, and obtain necessary clearances and vaccinations.
  • Must be able to travel throughout southern California and maintain a valid driver’s record and insurance.
