Job summary

The University of Rochester is seeking a Physician Support Representative III for Strong Internal Medicine in Rochester, NY. This role provides specialized administrative support, reviews patient records, coordinates referrals, and obtains prior authorizations to ensure timely access to care.

Qualifications

• High School diploma and 2 years of relevant experience required.
• Medical Terminology knowledge preferred.
• Experience with surgical/appointment scheduling software and EMR preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process incoming referrals in ambulatory referral workqueue.
• Manage referrals for establishment of care and monitor provider panels.
• Obtain prior authorizations for medications and visits (UHC).
• Coordinate with providers, pharmacies, and practice manager to resolve referrals and authorization issues.
• Maintain accurate patient documentation and clinic schedules.
