Job summary

MACT Health Board, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for a full-time role in a California clinical setting.

You will provide physical therapy treatment under supervision of a licensed PT to improve mobility, strength, and independence. Responsibilities include implementing treatment plans, modalities, patient prep, documentation, education for patients and families, and maintaining compliance records.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Associate’s degree from a CAPTE-accredited PTA program.
• Current California PTA license or active eligibility.
• Current BLS/ALS certificate.
• Must pass Occupational Health Screening.
• I-9 form verification with E-Verify.
• Clean DMV driving record and MACT auto insurance eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Implement treatment plans as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist, including therapeutic exercises, gait training, functional mobility, ADL training, and neuromuscular re-education.
• Administer modalities and interventions as permitted by license and plan of care.
• Prepare patients and treatment areas/equipment; assist with patient transfers, positioning, and transportation as needed.
• Observe, measure, and document patient responses, progress, vital signs, ROM, and adverse reactions; report findings to supervising PT.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on home exercise programs, equipment use, safety, and recovery techniques.
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in the medical record per facility, state, and payer requirements.
• Adhere to safety and control standards; maintain professional communication with staff.
